The Architecture (Sustainable Architectural Design) Lecturer/Senior Lecturer is responsible for teaching and advancing knowledge in architectural technology, including construction methods, building systems, digital fabrication, and sustainable design technologies. The role involves delivering lectures, leading technical workshops, and supervising student projects with a focus on integrating technology into architectural practice. The lecturer will also contribute to curriculum development, research, and industry engagement. Senior lecturers may take on additional responsibilities such as mentoring junior staff, leading academic initiatives, and fostering innovation in the application of emerging technologies in architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Course delivery to learners, including curriculum development, course assessment, project supervision, mentoring of learners and providing pre-, in- and post-course advice.
  • Enhance the quality of lesson design and delivery through implementing appropriate teaching and learning strategies and methods.
  • Evaluate curriculum design, development, delivery and assessment to enhance effectiveness.
  • Spearhead and lead developmental initiatives and industry collaborations, including competitions.
  • Stay current and responsive to changing trends in the profession and educational landscape through active engagement with industry and professional bodies/communities.
  • Lead or represent in school committees and contribute to administrative/managementtasks (i.e. outreach, student recruitment, project management, etc.) as and when required.
  • Develop and deliver CET programme.

[What we are looking for]

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications in Architecture or equivalent
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in sustainable architectural design or built environment industry with experience in green building construction and infrastructure solutions, sustainable material technology, and sustainable project management.
  • Familiar with Singapore Green Masterplan and Strategies, Green Mark scheme and certification.
  • Proficiency in 2D/3D visualisation software such as SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Familiar with BIM software such as Autodesk Revit and Autocad.
  • Experienced in leading project team to deliver according to committed schedules.
  • Familiar with submission requirements and processes for relevant authorities such as BCA, URA etc.
  • Familiar with current architectural policies and practices.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passionate in nurturing the next generation of young professional for Built Environment industry.

Candidate should possess relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Building Information Modelling (BIM Revit)
  • Construction and material technology
  • Project management & professional practice
  • 2D/3D software such as SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, Autodesk (CAD and Revit) software
  • Parametric design such as Rhino and Grasshopper
  • Immersive Technology - AR/ VR in Built Environment context
