  • 2 Day Physicians and 2 Hospitalist APPs
    • 1 Day Physician covers ICU.

    • 5-7 Admits per Night Shift
• ICU – 8 Beds
• Hospitalist Team Average Daily Census: High 30s to Low 40s
• EMR: Meditech

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Patient Care Management:
   • Oversee and manage the care of hospitalized patients during the overnight shift.
   • Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and provide comprehensive assessments and treatment.
   • Coordinate with the daytime hospitalist team for smooth transitions of care.
2. Procedures (Required):
   • Perform essential inpatient procedures:
   • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and evidence-based practices during all procedures.
3. Critical Care Support:
   • Provide coverage and management for ICU patients in collaboration with a dedicated ICU proceduralist (if applicable).
   • Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate advanced care as necessary.
4. Collaboration and Communication:
   • Work closely with nursing staff, APPs, and consultants to ensure high-quality patient care.
   • Provide clear and effective handoffs to the daytime team, summarizing overnight events and patient progress.
5. Documentation:
   • Maintain thorough and accurate medical records using the EMR system (Meditech).
   • Document all patient interactions, procedures, and care plans in a timely manner.
6. Quality Improvement:
   • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.Stay updated with advancements in hospital medicine and procedural techniques.
