Primary Responsibilities:
- Patient Care Management:
- Oversee and manage the care of hospitalized patients during the overnight shift.
- Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and provide comprehensive assessments and treatment.
- Coordinate with the daytime hospitalist team for smooth transitions of care.
- Procedures (Required):
- Perform essential inpatient procedures:
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and evidence-based practices during all procedures.
- Critical Care Support:
- Provide coverage and management for ICU patients in collaboration with a dedicated ICU proceduralist (if applicable).
- Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate advanced care as necessary.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with nursing staff, APPs, and consultants to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Provide clear and effective handoffs to the daytime team, summarizing overnight events and patient progress.
- Documentation:
- Maintain thorough and accurate medical records using the EMR system (Meditech).
- Document all patient interactions, procedures, and care plans in a timely manner.
- Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.Stay updated with advancements in hospital medicine and procedural techniques.
