We are seeking an experienced SyOps Engineer to join our growing software engineering team.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Automating the deployment of applications and infrastructure as part of the application development process
- Developing and supporting internal tools and services to integrate, deploy, and operate applications to optimize impact on team results
- Managing and optimizing the infrastructure (on-premises and cloud) that supports our train planning systems
- Implementing monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues
- Collaborating with developers to integrate SysOps practices and tooling into the software development lifecycle
- Automating repetitive tasks, system deployments, and server configurations
- Ensuring security, compliance, and reliability of the train planning systems and infrastructure
- Analyzing performance metrics and seeing opportunities for optimization and improvement
- Documenting processes, procedures, and best practices to support knowledge sharing and team growth
We're looking for someone who has:
- At least 2 years of experience as a SysOps/DevOps Engineer or in a similar role
- Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go)
- Experience with infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, OpenTofu)
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
- A solid understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and their DevOps services
- Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana)
- Experience with modern source control and ticketing tools such as Git, Jira, and Confluence
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with multi-functional teams
- Certifications in cloud platforms, DevOps tools, or IT service management (considered a plus)
