General Job Description
Freeman Enclosure Systems is searching for a Quality Inspector who can uphold the safety policies our company has created and oversee the production process to ensure that all products meet our high standard of quality. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing inspection/testing on products at various stages of production to ensure that customer specifications are met, and company quality standards are followed.
Rate depending on experience.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections on the floor and where needed. On completed houses.
- Perform the assigned tasks:
- Inspections
- Final Inspections
- Signing in/out of gauges for production
- point-to-point testing for electrical wiring.
- All other tasked assigned by Q.M. or designee
- Assist in customer testing (sound, run, water, etc.)
- Maintain inventory of Q.A. related work materials (zip ties, tags, paperwork, etc.)
- Assist production with engineering/customer related issues or questions
- Any other task assigned by Quality Manager or designee
- Skilled at reading and interpreting blueprints and shop drawings.
Specific Qualifications
Skills Needed/ Preferred:
- Must possess excellent communication and listening skills
- Proven history of understanding industry safety standards and quality expectatio
- Understanding of welding and sheet metal preferred, but not required
- Able to work independently
- Attention to detail
- Visual Acuity
- Good communication skills with production personnel and management
- Ability to read blueprints
- Microsoft Outlook
- ISO 9001 experience
- Microsoft planner
- Knowledge of quality auditing process
- Must be able to pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
Education:
Physical Requirements:
- The job requires being on your feet for extended periods while conducting inspections on the production floor and completed houses.
- Ability to handle small tools, gauges, and equipment for inspection tasks, including signing in/out of gauges, point-to-point testing, and other precision tasks.
- May need to lift and carry items related to Quality Assurance materials (e.g., zip ties, tags, and paperwork) which could weigh up to 25 lbs. or more, depending on the task.
- The position may require occasional climbing or using stairs to inspect houses or areas of the production floor that are not at ground level.
- Inspections may require bending, stooping, or kneeling to assess products or components at various stages of production.
- to work in a factory or production environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and other industrial conditions.
- The job may involve repetitive tasks, such as inspecting electrical wiring or working with equipment, requiring consistent hand-eye coordination.
- Must maintain focus and attention to detail even in potentially noisy or busy environments while performing inspections and assessments.
- Must be able to clearly communicate issues or concerns with both production personnel and management, which may involve verbal and written communication.
- This position involves working in various conditions, including indoor and outdoor environments, exposure to dust, dirt, heat, cold, and occasionally working at heights or in confined spaces.
