Dyson Software is responsible for developing software for the products (Embedded Software), Dyson Link mobile app and the Dyson Cloud. Dyson Software is the fastest growing engineering unit at Dyson as more software goes on every new product we make. Products become smarter and use advanced technologies to interact with. Therefore, we are looking for software architects, who will work close with the software head of software.

About the Role

• To foster this growth, we are expanding our collaboration with third-party JDM partners. Since they are based in China, we encourage you to actively engage with them throughout the project, from initiation to delivery. You serve as the bridge between these JDM partners and the Dyson Software team, which is based in Singapore, the Philippines, the UK, or Poland.
• You help the business teams to refine the requirements and define high level architecture with the architects of the JDM partner. You can size the work and propose proactively different options to achieve the goals.
• Different alternative solutions are discussed with the stakeholders to ensure that the best possible solution is selected.
• You have an overview of the total development process and can provide solutions when needed during the project.
• You will build up strong relationships within and outside software.
• Constantly reviewing the current working practices of the functions proposing new initiatives and implementing solutions that will improve the overall effectiveness and efficiency of the function

About you

• We expect you to have at least 10 years of experience in software engineering and have a BSc or a MSc in Computer Science or Electronics.
• You have experience in outsourcing software development activities. You know how to define work packages and agree on how to measure and ensure the quality of the delivered software.
• You have a good understanding of software engineering. We expect candidates to be hands on in C and C++, although it won’t be major part of the job.
• Able to make priority calls and escalate to the Head of Embedded Software where required with proposed solutions to the situation/issue
• You’re able to build bridges collaborating within SW and our JDM partners
• Strong skills in communicating with people at all levels including leadership teams
• Ability to think ahead and anticipate issues before they arise
• Work in a SAFe Agile environment
• Fluent in English and Mandarin
