POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for the development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of Sky Lakes Medical Center’s educational offerings. Responsible for nursing assistant and safety assistant education. Reports to the Director of Training and Development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Oregon. A minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience. Familiar with healthcare operational workflows; ability to organize work and attend to detail; and an ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments and multiple schedules. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Preferred:
Bachelors’ Degree in health care or related field. Expertise in developing educational offerings. Experience working in a team-based structure. Supervisory experience preferred.

Medium physical demands capability required. Ability to lift ten pounds. Able to work within time constraints; high stress situations and multiple tasks; ability to maintain a professional appearance; be courteous to co-workers and patient/family. Participate and promote teamwork.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinates clinical orientation for staff who provide patient care.
- Support local colleges and universities to provide clinical education for staff
- Develop new training schedules based on trainer availability and department needs. Develop and maintain evaluation process for orientation
- Maintains educational records in Learning Management system database of all new employees and the training received.
- Assist with Sky Lakes biannual skills fair including reports of employees trained.
- Coordinates computer and clinical documentation education and audit processes.
- Coordinates on-line education for all employees through the Learning Management System. Provide monthly reports to the Director on training effectiveness.
- Identify data collection tools, data sources, benchmarks and performance targets for evaluating educational programs,
- Works collaboratively with academic entities to ensure on-boarding of students. Provide clinical instruction as requested for all nursing programs.
- Produce training materials for in-house courses and in-services
- Validates both RN and non-RN competencies for completeness and compliance with regulatory bodies. Responsible for scheduling and assisting with evaluation of the program.
- Consistently demonstrates professional self-directed approach to developing cooperative relationships throughout the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication with peers, physicians, office staff, and other departments; maintains effective working relationships with coworkers, directors, physicians, and physician office staff.
- Ability to adapt to change rapidly; ability to prioritize activities and be able to follow directions.
MARGINAL JOB FUCTIONS:
- Perform other duties as assigned.
This is an exempt position and salary is based on experience.
