Performs preparation of operating room and assists physician during surgery. Assists with patient care in accordance with the medical plan of care established SMG, SRH and Nursing policies and Procedures/Protocols and Standards of Care. Performs direct assistant care, and wound closure as directed by the physician. Coordinates and delegates the care with/to other professionals and ancillary personnel. Assist with patient care during and after surgery as directed by physician. Functions in a supportive role to communicate patient needs and resolve work-related issues. Highly engaged team member and patient advocate in the OR or office setting. Performs any other assigned duties per Surgeons, Practice Manager, and Department Director.
Graduate of an accredited educational program for Surgical Technicians and holds and maintains the current licensure, clinical expertise, leadership, and organizational ability. Must be able to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with others. Must be self-motivated and team player.
