Position Title: Peer Recovery Specialist/Behavioral Health Case ManagerII
Location: New Castle, De
Schedule: Monday - Saturday 40 hours per week. Schedule to be flexible due to weekend rotation and community engagements.
Pay Rate $22.50 to $25 per hour based on experience.
Job descritpion:
The Peer Recovery Specialist will use thier own recovery experience and peer certification training to assist clients with defining their recovery goals, and developing the skills and knowledge needed for their recovery. The Peer Recovery Specialist will interact with many different types of behavioral health and medical professionals while remaining true to the mission of peer support. The Peer Recovery Specialist will advocate for clients while being in partnership with other staff members.
Essential Functions:
1. Provides peer support to engage individuals in a recovery partnership and assists in identifying participant's recovery goals and the solutions they are seeking.
2. Assist individuals with development of a personalized crisis plan, recovery action plan, and person centered treatment plan.
3. Maintains a caseload, prepares narrative reports as required.
4. Promote self-advocacy by assisting recovering persons to have their voices fully heard; and have their needs, goals and objectives established as the focal point of rehabilitation and clinical services.
5. Assist in developing and cultivating connectedness in the client's life (to self, family, friends, clinical home, treatment services provider, environment, and to meaning and purpose).
6. As part of the integrated clincial team, advocates for the clients to identify services or resources to help the individuals achieve their goals.
7. Conducts routine follow-up engagement to maintain contact with clients.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Be at least 18 years of age.
2. Possession of a High School Diploma or its equivalent.
3. Receive Delaware Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialisty within one (1) year of start date.
4. Be willing to self-disclose lived recovery experience for the purpose of modeling hope, personal responsibility, and self-advocacy to demonstrate how recovery goals can be respectfully met and how a belief in self is maintained.
5. Three (3) months experience working or volunteering, under supervision, in a peer recovery specialist role.
6. Three (3) months experience in interpreting laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
7. Three (3) months experience in narrative report writing.
8. Valid driver's license and transportation required.
