developing and maintaining NetSuite's mobile applications, enabling users to access critical business data

and workflows from anywhere, anytime. Our focus is on delivering a seamless and intuitive mobile

experience while ensuring robust security and performance. We are building a scalable server side which

provides data for mobile applications.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Software Engineer to join our Mobile Team. In

this leadership role, you will be a key architect and technical driver for the development and

maintenance of our mobile applications, with a strong focus on the server-side backend development

using Java and Kotlin. You will also serve as a senior consultant, advisor, and mentor to the broader

mobile team, providing strategic guidance and expertise on architectural design, technology roadmaps, and

resolving complex technical challenges. You will lead by example, contributing directly to critical projects

while also empowering other engineers to excel. This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of

responsible for the technical vision and execution of key initiatives.

Responsibilities:

Server-Side Architecture and Development (Java/Kotlin):

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable, and reliable server-side APIs

and services using Java and Kotlin, ensuring alignment with NetSuite's overall architecture.

• Lead the performance optimization of backend services for mobile use cases, identifying and

addressing bottlenecks in data retrieval, processing, and caching.

• Drive the adoption of best practices for code quality, testing, and continuous

integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).

• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure code quality,

maintainability, and adherence to architectural principles.

Mobile Application Integration and Support:

• Provide deep expertise and strategic guidance to mobile developers working on iOS

(Swift/Objective-C) and Android (Java/Kotlin) applications, ensuring seamless integration

with the server-side backend.

• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define and implement efficient data models and APIs

that meet the evolving needs of the mobile platform.

• Lead the investigation and resolution of complex issues related to mobile app connectivity,

performance, security, and scalability.

Technical Leadership, Consulting, and Advisory:

• Serve as a senior technical leader, consultant, and advisor to the mobile team, providing

strategic guidance on technology choices and architectural design.

• Mentor and coach senior engineers and technical leads, fostering their technical growth and

leadership skills.

• Lead technical discussions and brainstorming sessions to solve challenging problems,

facilitating collaboration and knowledge sharing.●

• Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies and frameworks to improve the

team's capabilities and drive innovation.

• Develop and maintain architectural documentation and best practices guidelines.

Innovation and Strategic Planning:

• Contribute to the long-term technical vision and strategic planning for the mobile platform.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and lead the development of proof-of-concepts and

prototypes.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in mobile development and cloud

computing.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• Deep expertise in Java, Kotlin, with extensive experience building high-performance,

scalable server-side applications.

• Expert-level understanding of object-oriented programming principles, design patterns, and data

structures.

• Extensive experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL) and data

modeling, including performance optimization techniques.

• Extensive experience with RESTful API design and development, including security considerations.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), including architectural

patterns for cloud-native applications.

• Significant experience with Swift and Objective-C for iOS development.
• Significant experience with Java and Kotlin for Android development.
• Deep understanding of mobile development best practices, including performance optimization,

security, and UI/UX design principles.

• Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead and mentor technical teams.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.
• Extensive experience with building highly scalable and resilient backend systems.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong understanding of security principles and best practices for mobile and server-side

development.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
