Full-time or part-time Jr. Specialist for Dr. Masashi Kitazawa – UCI Public Health

The Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, School of Population and Public Health at the University of California-Irvine seeks a junior specialist to help experimental procedures for graduate students and post-doctoral scholars. Candidate will not have to do own research project.

We are seeking to hire a highly motivated, dedicated individual who has excellent project management and molecular biology skills. Under the general supervision of the Principal Investigator, or other senior lab personnel, the incumbent may perform tasks including but not limited to:

  • Writing/updating/distributing lab protocols, SOPs, project plans/summaries/reports
  • Lab maintenance including ordering, supply inventory, equipment maintenance, cleaning, organizing, and managing lab spaces and materials; and performing other duties as assigned
  • Assisting with experiments, working as part of a team
  • Training students and researchers with lab techniques
  • Manuscript and publication preparation
  • Attending laboratory meetings
