LOCATION: Appleton, WI
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE:
The Admission Counselor at Lawrence University is responsible for managing an assigned recruitment territory, engaging with prospective students and families, and promoting the university. This role involves traveling to high schools and college fairs, holding admissions meetings, and organizing regional programming to support recruitment efforts. The counselor will also analyze data related to admissions and provide guidance on scholarships and financial aid, all while fostering relationships with various stakeholders in the educational community.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Territory Management:
- Manage an assigned geographical territory and execute a results-oriented recruitment plan, using data to identify opportunities and prioritize efforts. Including high school visits, college fairs, workshops, and virtual engagement to build a pipeline of qualified applicants.
- Travel extensively (6–8 weeks annually) to establish and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including prospective students, families, and counselors.
2. Communications and Relations:
- Articulate Lawrence University’s university mission and values to diverse constituencies in order to optimize interest in and enrollment to the university.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective students and families, providing clear and compelling information about Lawrence’s offerings, including the value of a liberal arts education.
- Proactively follow up with leads through personalized outreach, ensuring timely responses and nurturing prospective students through the decision-making process.
- Cultivate relationships with school counselors, independent advisors, and college access organizations to create and expand referral networks.
3. Application Review:
- Timely and thouroughly review applications to select students who align with Lawrence’s mission and goals, ensuring recruitment objectives are met.
- Recommend candidates for admission and merit scholarships, emphasizing converting admits to enrolled students.
4. Programming and Office Contribution:
- Contribute to on-campus and virtual programming, including delivering engaging presentations and conducting interviews.
- Represent Lawrence at local and regional events, promoting the university’s unique value proposition.
- Lead independent admission projects, leveraging data insights to optimize recruitment activities and measure performance against goals.
- Participate in collaborative workgroups or special projects as directed.
5. Reporting and Metrics:
- Regularly analyze and report on key recruitment metrics, using insights to adjust strategies for maximum impact.
- Exercise independent judgment in all work, ensuring ethical and efficient use of university resources. Maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest standards of integrity.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Bilingual in Spanish (strong preference).
- Demonstrated cultural competence and a commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
PREFFERED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Proven success in a sales, recruitment, or customer engagement role, with a focus on achieving measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems and data analysis tools.
- Collegiate recruitment, admissions, or related experience.
- Ability to work independently, self-motivate, and adapt to dynamic priorities.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel extensively when needed.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
- 1+ year of professional work experience in a results-driven environment.
- Successful completion of criminal record check, driving record check, and reference checks.
