Our Forensic, Litigation & Valuation Services Practice has a domestic and international presence with team members working throughout the United States and Internationally. This role will be based out of our Manhattan office and will have responsibility to build out New York, along with a National Reach. You will be a valued business advisor delivering industry-focused forensic and litigation support services to our clients. You will work side-by-side with firm leadership and our associates to serve clients and build the business, having a direct impact on the firm’s success. You will be a valued mentor and coach to a group of talented staff, utilizing your expertise to help develop their technical and professional skills. What will you do:
You will be a trusted leader of Baker Tilly’s Forensic, Litigation and Valuation Services Practice positively impacting your clients through:
Assume responsibility for all project phases related to forensic accounting, and litigation support and apply insights and knowledge to identify issues and processes to enable clients to solve complex, sensitive matters.
Manage day-to-day project activities; establish appropriate leverage on project teams and assign/manage project responsibilities to team members.
Carry out the quantification of claims on behalf of Insurers, Loss Adjusters, Lawyers, and others with a large focus on analysis of data and financial information and draft expert reports and client presentations
Oversee the work, lead engagements, and guide team members, ensuring quality best practices
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, engage in new business development, and participate in firm business development activities, including the creation of presentations and proposals.
Participation in though leadership, including writing white papers/articles and speaking on behalf of Baker Tilly at industry events.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred
CPA, CFE, CFF or other relevant certification required
A minimum of fifteen years’ experience in forensic accounting, and litigation support in a professional service firm, ideally as a Partner/Principal. Must have experience working directly with large corporations. Combination of professional services and industry experience will be considered
Previous experience building out teams along with mentoring and coaching teams
Proven experience in servicing clients and building out a book of business and thought leadership experience including publications, speaking engagements
- Individuals in this position must have demonstrated computer skills and experience with accounting software, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; with a high level of proficiency in data analysis and financial modeling
Experience with project management and process improvement methodologies as well as proven written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, ability to work in a fast-paced, and deadline-driven environment across multiple units
Flexibility to travel locally and internationally to client sites as needed and ability to work beyond core business hours.
