Position Summary:
The Vice President of Development and Design works closely with the entirety of the Design Team to support and execute every scope of work offered to clients. They use their years of experience and expertise to understand our team and our clients, to help achieve hospitality design success.
Essential Duties:
Departmental and Client Responsibilities:
- Mentor and development of the Design Department overall
- Make specific hiring recommendations relative to the Design department
- Interview, hire and train all junior members in the Design Department
- Holds department member accountable for work performance
- Initiates progressive discipline or performance improvement plans as necessary
- Develop 1, 3 and 5 year strategic plans for the Department including BD and revenue growth
- Oversee, develop and assess Interior Project Design Manager position
- Develop and manage revenue generating initiatives for Design Department
- Design lead on high touch DD projects
Internal Initiatives:
- Develop internal initiatives, special projects and departmental goals
- Design specific BD strategy, outreach and management
- RFHSD first point of contact for TroonDESIGN initiatives and projects
- Develop, implement and monitor internal systems and tools for Design Department
Sales and Business Development (BD):
- Manage DD sales process
- Manage DD Designer assignments, overall workload and bandwidth
- Develop and manage Design Department budget/P&L
Education/Experience:
- Experience: Minimum 8-12+ years in a Design Management role or equivalent role at a different firm
- Bachelors Degree from a FIDER accredited Interior Design program

Physical Demands:
Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 20 pounds without assistance.
Environment/Noise:
Noise level is moderate.
Certificates/Licenses:
NCIDQ Certification or State License is preferred.
