Senior Process Engineer (Cable assembly)

Your Job:

As an NPI Process Engineer (SME) at Koch Companies, you will be responsible for defining, managing, and implementing efficient cable assembly processes for new products. Your role is crucial in optimizing resources to ensure processes consistently deliver parts that meet or exceed customer specifications and objectives related to safety, quality, efficiency, and cost. You will coordinate activities with the process technicians' team to achieve these goals.

Our Team:

You will be joining the CCS division in Nogales, working under the supervision of the NPI Superintendent/Leader. This role interacts with multiple contacts including Process Engineering, NPI, Product Development (PD), Quality, and Production teams, fostering collaboration to drive innovative solutions and process improvements.

What You Will Do:

  • Define robust and cost-effective process flows with precise manufacturing costs for cable or harness manufacturing design requests.
  • Conduct detailed cable manufacturing feasibility studies in collaboration with PD, NPI, and Production teams.
  • Apply engineering tools and techniques such as Tolerance Analysis, SPC, DOE, and Six Sigma for troubleshooting and process optimization.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance productivity and quality in cable and harness manufacturing.
  • Participate in design reviews, conduct Design for Manufacturability assessments, and perform PFMEA reviews to mitigate design concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with IPC/620 and IPC/610 standards for new product implementations.
  • Coordinate assembly development with internal teams, defining tooling requirements and cycle time.
  • Develop and update project plans, securing management support when necessary.
  • Drive corrective and preventive actions within the PDP process for assembly concerns.
  • Contribute to MBM Philosophy, Six Sigma, EICC, ISO, IAFT, and EH&S Management Systems.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications):

  • Diploma/Bachelor/Masters in Engineering
  • 5 years of experience in cable assembly process
  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Extensive knowledge of cable assembly processes
  • Familiarity with NPI and DFMEA processes

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Knowledge in molding processes
  • Experience with robotics and automation
