Production Scheduler

POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Scheduling Manager, this vital position will be responsible for the tracking, planning, and execution of orders for all window manufacturing facilities in line with Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning as well as plant capacity guidelines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • As a Production Scheduler, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and optimizing production activities within the manufacturing plants to ensure efficient operations and customer satisfaction.
  • Review sales data, new customer data, new product introductions, product promotions and various other sales/marketing activities to ensure production needs are met while taking into consideration plant capacity constraints.
  • Develop effective scheduling process to achieve production objectives.
  • Work with Manager to plan and coordinate production schedules daily for all 5 window manufacturing plants.
  • Review customer demand and align with production planned orders.
  • Review rush requests from customers, approve / deny based on capacity and lead time.
  • Adjust system capacities to drive volume to plant / lines.
  • Shift volume between plants when orders exceed capacity.
  • Adjust load dates in the system for approved rushes.
  • Generate various reports daily that summarize build date compliance, daily incoming orders, and open production.
  • Coordinate with Manager to develop and execute production plan in line with Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning tools.
  • Work with various disciplines to develop potential solutions to improve production performance.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Finance to develop and maintain scheduling parameters.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 1+ years of applicable experience in manufacturing operations, planning, and replenishment planning
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in high volume, high complexity manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems
  • Experience in Microsoft Office software with advanced skills in Excel. Power BI and Access. SQL is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with all levels of the organization
  • High motivation, assertiveness, flexibility, and adaptability to change
