Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Flight Test Engineer / Test Director, Bomber Programs to support our Edwards AFB location in Lancaster, CA. This position can be hired as Full-time or Part-time.

Responsibilities

The Flight Test Engineer will serve as Test Director during flight test mission execution, as well as be responsible for pre-mission planning and post-mission reporting. Responsibilities may also include test plan and test card writing, and long-range planning.

This role is responsible for planning, execution, and reporting of flight test for the B-1, B-2, and B-52 platforms as a Test Director.

The following specific duties are anticipated:

&bull Aid in development and review of ground and flight test plans and test cards

&bull Help develop and review flight test safety plans

&bull Oversee scheduling of resources for tests and coordinate with many engineering disciplines and outside agencies to ensure successful test execution

&bull Lead test mission briefs as a Test Director

&bull Lead/supervise the execution of test missions as a Test Director

&bull Complete post-test mission reporting requirements

&bull Other duties in-line with MTSI&rsquos core value to &ldquoOwn and Solve our Customer&rsquos Problems.&rdquo

Qualifications

Required:

&bull Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in all phases of planning, executing and managing flight tests and a reputation of being a team player.

&bull Maturity and professionalism to lead the execution of flight test missions, briefings and oversee team of test control and discipline engineers in Mission Control Room.

&bull Able to effectively function and make decisions in dynamic, high-pressure environments.

&bull Work well in a team environment as well as independently.

&bull Experience generating post flight mission reports and other detailed formal reports.

&bull Position requires willingness to accept changing and evolving roles & responsibilities in support of customers&rsquo requirements and need.

Desired:

&bull Developmental Test and Operational Test operations experience.

&bull Previous experience in flight testing fighter or bomber aircraft.

&bull Experience in flight test of avionics systems, weapons, live fires and releases, and sensor testing.

&bull Experience in Electronic Warfare and RF/IR Countermeasures.

&bull Previous experience in aero performance/flight envelope expansion.

&bull Previous experience as aircrew member (Pilot, EWO, NAV, etc.) is a plus but not required.

&bull Private Pilot license is a plus but not required.

&bull Test Pilot School Graduate a plus but not required for this mid-level FTE position

Education:

Bachelors degree in a STEM field of study is required.

Clearance Requirements:

Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and ability to attain special program access is required. A Secret clearance may be acceptable to start.

Travel:

Approximately 10% travel may be required

U.S. Citizenship required

The pay range for this position in California is $XXX,000/year to $XXX,000/year however, base pay offered may vary depending on established government contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and other factors. MTSI also offers a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
