The APP position in the Family Practice Clinic setting is responsible for providing high-quality, patient-centered care for individuals with non-life-threatening conditions. The APP will assess, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with a variety of illnesses and injuries, ensuring timely and effective care. This role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Patient Assessment & Care : Perform thorough physical examinations, obtain patient history, and evaluate patients' symptoms to develop appropriate treatment plans.
Diagnosis and Treatment: Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays (that we can perform in office), labs, and EKGs. Prescribe medications and recommend treatments based on evidence-based guidelines.
Wound Care and Minor Procedures: Provide care for lacerations, sprains, fractures, abscesses, and other minor injuries. Perform procedures such as suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on their conditions, treatment plans, preventive care, and the proper use of prescribed medications.
Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, other NPs, PAs, nurses, and administrative staff to ensure coordinated care and efficient workflow. Consult with supervising physicians as needed.
Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in the Epic, electronic medical record (EMR) system, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and quality standards.
Compliance and Quality Assurance: Adhere to all protocols, policies, and procedures, including HIPAA regulations and infection control practices. Participate in quality improvement initiatives as directed.
