Job Summary:
Larkin Community Hospital is seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Medical-Surgical Services to lead and manage the day-to-day operations of our Med Surg unit. The Director will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and staff development. This leadership role will play a critical part in achieving the hospital's strategic objectives and maintaining a culture of excellence in clinical care and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the operations of the Medical-Surgical unit, ensuring high standards of nursing care and patient satisfaction.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care programs and quality initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, including labor, supplies, and equipment.
- Recruit, retain, and mentor nursing staff; provide leadership through coaching, performance evaluations, and development planning.
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill mix to meet patient care needs.
- Participate in hospital committees and contribute to hospital-wide policy development and quality improvement initiatives.
- Analyze data to drive performance improvements and optimize patient outcomes.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
- Licensure: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in a Med Surg environment, with at least 1 year in a nursing leadership role.
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS required.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage change, resolve conflicts, and promote team building.
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 - 4:30
