Position Overview: Loss Prevention Specialist
Responsible for initiatives and daily tasks associated with loss prevention and safety management as directed by Loss Prevention Manager to ensure the Inventory accuracy, safety and well-being of all employees and company assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet Customers and Staff as they enter and exit the premises.
- Monitor Self-Checkout counters to identify potential loss and concerns.
- Monitor potential theft suspicions. Partner with LP Manager to address concerns.
- Ensure full knowledge of and exemplify LP/safety policy, procedure and standards.
- Train store employees on LP policy and procedure to ensure compliance.
- Train store employees on safety policy and procedure to ensure compliance.
- Communicate and support all initiatives surrounding shortage reduction including, but not limited to, audits, inventory counts, etc.
- Ensure complete confidentiality with regards to current and past investigations and outcomes.
- Special projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Ability to physically apprehend and assist in the detention of shoplifters as required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Basic knowledge of computer applications, i.e.: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to work for extended periods at a desk on a computer or standing/walking as required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- Experience in conducting investigations preferred.
- 1-2 years of retail Loss Prevention experience preferred.

Part-Time Availability Requirements:
- Average 24 or more hours per week based on business seasonality.
- Open availability on weekends (religious exemptions will be considered).
- Restrictions on availability limited to two days per week.
