SUMMARY:

Tillys is seeking a hybrid Senior Database & WMS Engineer to join our Information Systems team. This unique role combines deep technical expertise in Microsoft SQL Server development with hands-on experience in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), specifically Korber (HighJump). You’ll lead critical development efforts that support both enterprise data infrastructure and the operational backbone of our distribution and fulfillment network. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Database Development & Reporting:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL processes using SSIS to support data integration from various sources.
  • Write and optimize T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, views, and functions.
  • Develop and maintain SSRS reports, including parameterized, drill-down, and sub-reports.
  • Perform database monitoring, tuning, backups, and recoveries to ensure high availability and data integrity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide analytical/reporting solutions.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to support database systems and critical business operations.

Warehouse Management System (WMS) Engineering:

  • Lead the architecture, configuration, and development of the Korber (HighJump) WMS.
  • Integrate WMS with ERP, OMS, TMS, and other platforms to support omnichannel operations.
  • Drive automation, process optimization, and efficiency improvements across the warehouse.
  • Ensure system scalability to meet future business needs, including higher volume e-commerce and retail fulfillment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, optimize workflows, and implement enhancements.
  • Ensure WMS compliance with data security and industry best practices.
  • Support and mentor internal development team members in WMS functionality and troubleshooting.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Expert level experience with Microsoft SQL server, T-SQL, SSIS, and SSRS.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Korber (HighJump) WMS architecture, development, and support.
  • Experience with WMS-ERP integrations and related systems.
  • Familiarity with C#, MVC, and IBM AS/400 DB2 is a plus.
  • Experience with high availability environments (SQL clusters, SSIS Scale Out) preferred.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in SQL database development and 5-7+ years in WMS implementation/support.
  • Strong project management and documentation skills.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to support critical systems in a 24/7 on-call rotation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field- or equivalent professional experience.

What to Expect?

Salary: $160K: Offer placement within this range is dependent on a variety of factors, including prior relevant experience, qualifications, and skill set.

Based out of HQ in Irvine, CA with a minimum of 4 days in office.
