As part of the GSET Engineering team, Production Engineering partners with trading desks to support execution services for the firm and its clients. The team consists of technical support and devops specialists primarily focused on production platform real-time monitoring, incident and operation risk management, and software release and technology operations automation.

This role places you at the heart of our electronic trading business. As a devops specialist, you will be responsible for the ongoing development and support of a Python based configuration, resource allocation, and deployment system for the electronic trading platform. You will work with external developers to help with the design and necessary implementation for the onboarding of applications into this framework. As a secondary area, you will also help support the day-to-day operations of the electronic trading systems and the trading desks. In addition, you will oversee every component of the production environment to identify and resolve production problems as well as assess risk of systems changes and consult on system supportability improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

Job Summary

  • Develop and support a configuration, resource allocation, and deployment system for electronic trading platform
  • Ability to enhance existing or implement production support tooling and release management system
  • Apply knowledge of core technology and infrastructure including, but not limited to, tooling, testing, automation and monitoring, for reducing operational risk and increasing efficiency
  • Proactive management of production services by measuring and monitoring availability, and overall system health
  • Provide critical day-to-day production support, incident and crisis management for massive scale, distributed systems
  • The Asia Pac team is spread across Americas, Australia, Hong Kong, Japan, China and India. The role requires working as part of the larger global team and collaboratively working with counterparts across the region on both local and global initiatives

Skills we’re looking for:

  • Min. 1 yr (for Analyst)/3 yrs (for Associate) of experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC), from initial analysis and requirements gathering with users, through design, development, QA testing and production release
  • Proficient in UNIX – in-depth knowledge is a must; Experience supporting applications in a Linux or Unix environment
  • Proficient in Python
  • Using orchestration tools including Gradle, Git, Confluence, or JIRA
  • Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with outstanding verbal and written communication skills with other groups, technology teams, and business users
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down and communicate complex issues, ideas and provide multiple solutions to a problem

Ability to handle multiple on-going assignments and be able to work independently in addition to contributing as part of a highly collaborative and globally dispersed team
