Electro-Mechanical Technician

Maintenance Department

The Electro-Mechanical Technician will perform preventative maintenance & emergency repairs to all production and building equipment. They will be responsible for troubleshooting, programming, repairs, and new installation of PLC’s, AC/DC motors, conveyors, gearboxes, etc. This will be done while striving to improve equipment reliability, as part of the maintenance team.

Essential Functions

  • Fill out daily log reports, emergency breakdown reports, work orders, and communicate with incoming shifts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as scheduled.
  • Ability to work on dc and up to 480vac equipment, starters, motors, vfd’s, sensors, controllers, photo-eyes, etc.
  • Install, debug and stabilize plant equipment as required.
  • Read schematics and blueprints in order to interpret, diagnose, and troubleshoot electrical issues to properly and safely repair.
  • Perform repairs, upgrades, and new installations of machinery and equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Support installations, analysis and acceptance of new equipment.
  • Test the performance of electro-mechanical assemblies, using test instruments
  • Read and interpret HMI panels to troubleshoot production line faults.
  • Install electronic parts and hardware, using soldering equipment and hand tools
  • Operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment
  • Assist in Production/Maintenance related assignments as needed.
  • Communicate issues and problem solve with Production staff any quality and safety concerns.
  • Perform electrical and distribution lock out/ tag out method steady with customary safety protocol
  • Facilitate to ensure all electro and mechanical safety requirements.
  • Participate in overtime assignments as required.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree in Maintenance Technology field, Electro Mechanic, and or equivalent Education, Experience and Training.
  • 1-5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of industrial electrical systems, Maintenance Best Practices Knowledge; OSHA, safety, etc.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment

    • Ability to recognize and report all incidents; even those that do not warrant treatment.
    • Review and execute our Food Safety Plan and MFP Mission Statement in order to provide value to each of our customers with safe, relevant, tasty food products; while never comprising quality.
    • Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMP’s) including proper waste disposal, attire, grooming and hygiene, etc.
    • Establish baselines, goals, initiatives, and metrics for sustainability projects and programs that improve energy usage, emissions, water and waste footprints, and organizational social responsibility.

  • This job is performed in industrial production areas where the person could be exposed to strong aromas, airborne dust particles emanating from ingredients being used, both hot and cold environments due to production and outdoor equipment, also working from heights of up to 60’ and will be in the presence of or otherwise operating machinery.

Electro-Mechanical Technician is supported and backed up by other Maintenance Mechanics or by the Maintenance Supervisor. Suitable training is required of this individual.

Electro-Mechanical Technician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Pay Rate: $26.50 to $39.79
