Inviting applications for the role of Business Analyst - Assortment Analytics (Retail)

In this role, you will be responsible for creating and implementing visually appealing and efficient retail layouts using specialized planogram/zoning optimization guides and software.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage seasonal and in-season assortment plans at the category and SKU level based on historical data, market trends, and store clustering strategies.
  • Collaborate with merchants and planners to ensure alignment between assortment plans, financial targets, and merchandising strategies.
  • Analyze store/channel-level performance to make data-driven recommendations for assortment additions, deletions, and shifts.
  • Support product line reviews by preparing assortment frameworks, sales analysis, and visual line planning tools.
  • Partner with allocation teams to ensure assortments are effectively distributed across locations and channels (e.g., stores, e-commerce).
  • Monitor product lifecycle and contribute to decisions on item roll-offs, transitions, and replenishment planning.
  • Use planning systems (e.g., JDA, Oracle RPAS, Anaplan) to maintain and update assortment tools and templates.
  • Drive continuous improvement in assortment efficiency and SKU productivity through post-season hindsight analysis and optimization.

Tools and Technology

Space Planning Software:

JDA/Blue Yonder Space Planning, Relex Solutions, Nexgen, Dotactiv, Apollo Retail or any other industry specific space planning tools

Data Analytics and Visualization:

Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Power BI

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Retail/Operations Management/B.Arch/BE Civil/Interior designing
  • Prior retail/Space planning/ Operations experience

Preferred qualifications

  • Good knowledge on Space Planning software/tools and utilize it to visualize and optimize store layouts by building & delivering planograms across departments.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize own workload
  • Personal drive and positive work ethic to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situations
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Decision making abilities
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
