General Purpose of Job:

To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage, and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning through level two technical services that support software accessibility, equitable and user-friendly systems with training that supports all users to effectively and efficiently achieve the district mission.

Description: Provides requested “on-the-spot” user assistance, training, and support to District staff and administration for a variety standard office software and database applications. Design, create, and distribute training documentation for our third-party software applications. Develops and provides scheduled user training for our Student Information System. Collaborate with Technical Support Specialists, Technical ESP’s, the Repair Department and Network personnel to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Application support of District Wide Information Systems, including user training, and software problem solving, on-site and hotline support.

1. Provide customer support for standard application software; and building, grade level, or curriculum software as required.
2. Establish and maintain troubleshooting and quality control procedures.
3. Collaborate with teammates to ensure all District service levels and commitments are met..
4. Remain current in software updates and technology advances.
5. Actively participate in department work groups and team troubleshooting initiatives.
6. Providing technical support to District users of the District Wide Information Systems.
7. Investing, researching, documenting, reporting encounters that affect Osseo’s use of District Wide Information Systems.
8. Creating training materials and instructions to system users.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Required: High school graduate or equivalent. Verification of successful completion of an accredited course of study related to computer science and/or equivalent experience in technical support of software.

Qualifications, Desired: Post-secondary degree in computer-related field.

Experience, Required: Minimum of three years of experience with web application processing; Coursework in Computer application support, or a closely related field.

2. High level of comfort and skill in the use of a variety of software packages on which they operate.
3. Demonstrate initiative and ability to work with minimal supervision.
4. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
5. Excellent organizational skills in prioritizing and documenting needs.
6. Ability to work under pressure.
7. Flexibility, resilience, and tolerance for ambiguity.

Job Type: Full-Time

Bargaining Unit: Hourly Technical - Class III
