Position Summary
The School of Education at Indiana University South Bend is seeking a full-time, tenure track faculty Assistant Professor of Secondary/Foundation of Education with training in and knowledge of Educational Technology practices. This position will be instrumental in aligning the program with state requirements related to the use of science-based reading curriculum and enhancing literacy outcome.
Responsibilities will include:
- The full-time load (100% FTE) is 12 credit hours (typically four courses) each fall and spring semester, with one course (25% FTE) reassigned time for scholarly and creative activities following university & campus policies.
- Teaching in the summer is voluntary and compensated separately.
- Courses may be in-person, online, hybrid, or in additional formats, and may be offered in the evenings/weekends or on off-campus locations.
- Candidate is in the process of establishing or continuing a robust research agenda. The candidate aspires to develop a national or international presence in their field. The candidate is familiar with quantitative, qualitative, or mixed-methods research techniques.
- Assisting in School/Division Level in bringing new technology to the school and classroom.
- Providing service to the school, college, campus, and university and participate in shared governance activities
- Working collaboratively with faculty from across campuses, K-12 schools, and outside agencies.

Basic Qualifications
Required Basic Qualifications
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Educational Technology, Secondary Education or related field
- 5+ years of secondary-level teaching experience(6-12)
- Ability to demonstrate expertise in Educational Technologies
- Demonstration of excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Strong teaching and research skills.
Preferred Basic Qualifications
- Proven experience and proficiency in teaching across various higher education platforms, including on-line, blended, and face-to-face formats.
- 2+ years’ experience within Higher Education setting.
- Experience or familiarity with the Indiana state-mandated requirement on the use of science-based reading curriculum.
