The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Build Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and maintain

robust continuous integration and delivery pipelines. and scaling the infrastructure that powers

Nutanix’s global build systems. In this role, you will drive the evolution of our build ecosystem,

ensuring it remains robust, efficient, secure, and compliant to support the needs of our global

engineering organization. You’ll collaborate closely with development, CI/CD, and IT teams to

deliver high-performance, scalable build infrastructure that enable rapid innovation and

seamless product delivery.

About the Team

Nutanix's Developer Productivity team is responsible for enabling all our developers to do their best at Nutanix. We are the CI/CD team at Nutanix. We develop and maintain microservices, internal applications, and tooling that are the bread and butter for building and shipping Nutanix products. We are a motivated team of Software Engineers solving interesting problems and focusing on high-quality deliverables.

Your Role

  • Evolve the Build Systems: Design and develop a scalable, reliable, and
  • high-performance CI/CD infrastructure to support build pipelines for Nutanix’s diverse
  • product portfolio across various platforms and environments.
  • Drive Automation and Efficiency: Implement automation tools and processes to
  • optimize infrastructure provisioning and management to reduce manual intervention, and
  • improve system reliability and developer productivity.
  • Collaborate Across Engineering Teams: Work closely with development, IT, and build
  • (CI/CD) teams to understand their needs and deliver solutions that improve the overall
  • software development lifecycle.
  • Ensure Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce best practices for
  • infrastructure security and access controls.
  • Incident Management: Participate in incident management processes, troubleshoot
  • issues, and implement solutions to minimize downtime.

What You Will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of technical leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of proven experience managing large-scale CI/CD infrastructure and distributed
  • build farms.
  • Deep knowledge of CI tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.), artifact management
  • (Artifactory, Nexus), and SCM (Git, Gerrit, GitHub).
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Groovy, Bash).
  • Proficiency in IaC tools (Terraform, Salt, Ansible, Puppet).
  • Knowledge of Linux system administration and networking.
  • Passion for scalability, availability, performance, and engineering excellence.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with excellent communication skills
  • and a collaborative approach.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
