Job Description
The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is specialized in the assessment and treatment of communication disorders, and the SLP in this particular position would focus on adult voice, airway, and swallowing disorders, while also contributing to evidence-based practice research in the field. The SLP's specialized knowledge of communication disorders qualifies this professional to aid in the diagnostic and treatment process with a Laryngology team. The SLP should be skilled in endoscopy procedures, including rigid/flexible laryngoscopy, videolaryngostroboscopy, and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing. The SLP should be familiar with the use of quality-of-life measures used to evaluate treatment outcomes in voice, airway, and swallowing disorders.
Minimum Education Required
A Master's degree in Speech Pathology or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Qualifications
One to two years experience working in a medical setting is preferred. Certification of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Ohio Licensure in Speech Pathology required. Those completing a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY/SLP) may be considered.
