Systems Engineer - India:
This position is for a Senior Systems Engineer role and the ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, with expertise in Linux, Windows, VMware and Storage systems. Candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud infrastructure & datacenter servers while ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.
In this role you will...
- Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure services across datacenters and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.).
- Manage infrastructure projects with a focus on high availability, performance, and scalability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify infrastructure needs and deliver cloud-based solutions.
- Manage and optimize cloud-based storage systems (block storage, object storage, and file systems).
- Administer and optimize Linux and Windows-based servers and virtual machines and systems in cloud environments.
- Automate infrastructure deployment, configuration, and management through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, Python or similar.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure the health and performance of cloud infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and performance issues.
- Ensure data security and compliance by applying security best practices to infrastructure design and management.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and staff.
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud and datacenter technologies, trends, and best practices, and apply them to the infrastructure.
- Assist in disaster recovery planning and execution to ensure data integrity and service availability.
You've got what it takes if you have…
- Cloud Platforms: Extensive experience with at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Operating Systems: Expertise in both Linux (Red Hat, Rocky, CentOS, etc.) and Windows Server environments (2016/2019/2022)
- Storage: Strong experience in managing cloud-based storage solutions (block storage, object storage, network file systems) and on-premises storage technologies like NetApp, Pure and EMC
- Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation) and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell and Ansible.
- Virtualization & Containers: Experience with cloud-native technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware.
- Networking: Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts, including VPCs, subnets, security groups, VPN, and load balancing.
- Monitoring & Security: Experience with monitoring and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Nagios) and implementing security best practices (IAM, encryption, firewall policies).
- Troubleshooting: Ability to diagnose complex system and network issues, with a focus on performance optimization and root cause analysis.
- Qualifications, Certifications in cloud platforms (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or similar).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef, Puppet, or SaltStack.
- Knowledge of database management in cloud environments (e.g., SQL, Oracle DB, MongoDB databases).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across teams and stakeholders.
