About the Department
Role Overview: In this important role, you will support the general safety of the university community by performing assigned duties. The Public Safety Dispatcher Assistant is responsible for answering routine non-emergency calls. This is an unarmed position working under direct supervision of a Dispatch Unit Manager or a Dispatch Unit Supervisor. Your duties will include but are not limited to:
Please note: This is part-time role, up to 20 hours a week. Will not exceed for 1,000 hours with a 12-month period.

Hourly Range:
The hourly rate for this position is $21.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer alignment, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
Valid CA driver's license required. Position will participate in the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Pull Notice System. A copy of DMV record will be required as a final condition of employment. For more information please visit the policy website.
Minimum Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent
Experience: 6-12 months
Valid driver's license for 2 years
