As a Principal Product Manager - Technical for Shopping on Alexa Plus, you will set a vision and build products that make it easier for customers to take care of themselves, their friends, and their families and to enjoy life. You will use Alexa Plus Generative AI technology to help people solve hard problems, like adopting healthy eating habits or doing more with a limited budget. While experience with LLMs is a plus, we are more interested in your deep understanding of the problems people face as they manage their households and take care of themselves, their family, their friends, and their pets. By the very nature of the technology we have available, you will be drive transformative innovation.

Key job responsibilities

• Listen closely to customers, imagining not not what exists but what could exists to make their lives easier and better.
• Separate customer signal from noise in an ambiguous, complex environment.
• Crystallize complex problems into a clear, multi-disciplinary vision, not limited to Shopping, and evangelize this vision across Amazon Retail, Alexa, and 3P partners.
• Distill out the Shopping components of this vision and sponsor or catalyze execution across devices (e.g., Echo devices, Alexa app, Fire TV, 3rd party devices, etc.) and languages.
• Guide 10+ teams' roadmap, bringing fundamentally new experiences to life.
• Deliver products that are highly adopted and financially successful.
• Work with Senior, Principal, and Distinguished engineers to design technical solutions that scale to future use cases.
• Guide calls on technical trade-offs between feature and product development.
• Suggest new ideas and technologies from other teams or businesses that may help us solve customer problems better or faster.

A day in the life

This is a highly visible, strategic role. You will:

• Partner with senior leaders across the Alexa and Shopping businesses to crystallize customer problems, develop and evangelize your visions, and identify a solve.
• Tell the story of our product to Design, BIE, Product, engineering, PR, and other stakeholders, multiplying your impact.
• Get the right data to guide product vision.
• Hold teams accountable for execution.
• Bring your empathy and excellence as a product manager practitioner to mentor and sponsor for other product managers, helping the broader team tackle highly complex problems and accelerate the development of magical customer experiences.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 8+ years of product or program management, product marketing, business development or technology experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
• Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
• Experience with end to end product delivery
• Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
• Experience technical product management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working directly with Engineers on product enhancements
• Experience in project management methodologies, business analysis, or process improvement

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $161,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $279,900/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
