Position Overview:
The Department of Music at Carleton College invites applications for a position (0.125 FTE, non-tenure-track) as part-time Instructor of Trumpet beginning September 1, 2025.
Salary range: $78-82/hour.
The primary teaching activity involves private lessons in trumpet, approximately 2.5 hours per week; Carleton’s classes are taught on a schedule of three 10-week terms per year. We seek a dynamic teacher and performer with an understanding of, and commitment to, teaching music performance in an undergraduate liberal art setting.
Education/Experience/Skills:
The successful applicant will hold, at minimum, a master’s degree in music or commensurate experience as a performer and educator. The primary teaching activity involves weekly, private lessons in trumpet. Additional teaching opportunities may include coaching ensemble wind sectionals and/or small student ensembles. We are particularly interested in candidates committed to teaching a diverse student body.
