Minimum Qualifications

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of using Microsoft Excel/Power Query for data review, cleaning, and analytics.

Experience writing SQLs.

Creating visual reports with Power BI and/or Excel.

Experience with Smartsheet.

Position Summary

The HRIS Analyst is an entry-level professional who contributes in both day-to-day tasks and troubleshooting along with technical projects. This includes, but is not limited to, system implementations, upgrades, & changes, technical documentation, process and integration design, and advanced report creation. The incumbent will provide organization-wide HR systems oversight and support to Human Resources, and be responsible for understanding, analyzing, and collaborating with UHR Leaders to provide appropriate solutions to meet the organizations’ s tactical and strategic HR technology needs.

The HRIS Analyst serves as an initial technical point of contact and assists all users by ensuring data and business process integrity, as well as assisting in the creating and maintaining training documentation for current processes and future improvement and enhancements. Assists with the general day-to-day functions of the HR System (PeopleSoft & PeopleAdmin) including business process configuration/improvement, data entry, report creation & reporting, data analysis, user help, and communications.

Duties/Responsibilities

Production Support

  • Support HRIS systems; HCM (PeopleSoft) modules including data integrity and business processes for HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, Payroll, compensation, the applicant tracking and position management system (PeopleAdmin), the onboarding and employment verification system (Equifax), the Learning Management System (Cornerstone), and the institutions background system (Accurate).
  • Create test scripts, document test scenarios, and perform testing activities of HR systems during upgrades or launch of new features.
  • Research and resolve issues, flaws, unexpected results, and recommend alternate methods to meet client needs in consultation with HRIS Director.
  • Understand HRIS protocols and seek guidance on variations from established protocols.
  • Function as a first responder to new tickets or calls on clients technical issues; escalate client request upward if unable to find a resolution.
  • Support HRIS integrations by reviewing data for accuracy and integrity.
  • Develop drafts of user procedures and guidelines for review by the HRIS Director
  • Train and coach new and current users on standard procedures, best practices and new functionality.
  • Develop and continuously update documentation, knowledge base, and best practice guides.

Projects and Process Improvement

  • Work with key stakeholders (HR business partners, Payroll, Benefits, etc.) to identify and refine business requirements for HR systems by utilizing project management skills to develop solutions based on needs.
  • Participate in upgrades for HR system(s) including the change management process, testing, training, and communication plans.
  • Recommend process improvements based on experiences from Production Support responsibilities.

Reporting and Compliance

  • Understand HR department strategic objectives, business processes, reporting and analysis needs, and translate into requirements for and/or configuration of the HRIS application to meet these needs.
  • Developing and delivering enhanced reporting tools such as automated reports and dashboards.
  • Assist in maintaining the integrity and mapping of employee data; and assist in development and documentation of consistent and appropriate data mapping structures.
  • Generate and distribute ad hoc, advocacy, and daily reports as requested by leadership and users.

  • Works to continuously refine processes, workflows, and system flows based on need.
  • Participate in periodic system upgrades and off cycle fixes.
  • Execute data conversion and data validation activities, resolve issues and defects reported, monitor usage and overall compliance of system.

  • Stay abreast of Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
  • Participate in related Human Resources initiatives and projects as needed.
  • Perform any and all other duties as necessary and as assigned by the Director for the efficient running of the department and organization.
