Job Description

  • Supervise and train housekeeping staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and monitoring performance.
  • Create and maintain work schedules, ensuring adequate staffing levels to meet operational needs.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate updates, address concerns, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Resolve staff conflicts and address performance issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Motivate and encourage team members to achieve high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
  • Inspect assigned areas to ensure cleanliness and adherence to established standards.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of cleaning equipment.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints regarding housekeeping services.
  • Maintain knowledge of and enforce safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, inventory, and staff schedules.
  • Prepare and submit reports on housekeeping activities and performance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of housekeeping policies and procedures.
  • Manage budgets related to housekeeping supplies and equipment.
  • Perform regular inspections of rooms and common areas.
  • Ensure that customer service is a high priority for all members of the housekeeping staff.
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in hospitality management or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience in housekeeping, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, products, and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Computer literacy.
