Software Quality Engineer

Locations: San Francisco, CA

Get To Know the Team

In this role, the Software Quality Engineer will design and revise test plans and test strategy as well as maintain automation frameworks used in the testing of end-user functional and design requirements. This involves close collaboration in a cross-functional team of Software Developers, QA Engineers and Product Managers. Responsibilities include defining and implementing test plans and automation of test cases. Scope of work also includes monitoring CI/CD Pipelines, performance & test results analysis, use case validation, evaluates end-user requirements, software test criteria, and existing manual tests to determine where automation can be appropriately and effectively applied. Plans, develops, and maintains a wide range of moderately complex manual quality tests and analyses to ensure software functions according to specified standards and end-user requirements.

What You Will Get To Do

• Own the entire system testing process, including but not limited to analysis, design, executing test plans and cases, and conducting defect tracking.
• Be able to cultivate deep understanding of business needs and technical roadmap and set clear quality standards in collaboration with other Engineering Managers and corresponding stakeholders.
• Recommend process, testing methodology, and improve technology/QA tools.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and enhance technical capabilities.
• Introduce new techniques and methods to improve team productivity.
• Work closely with cross-function teams in the early stage of product development lifecycle, to define test strategy, test plans and test coverage.

What You Will Bring

• Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of work-related experience.
• 1-2 years applicable industry knowledge and software testing experience including demonstrated proficiency using testing tools and utilities.
• 3-5 years applicable industry knowledge and software testing experience including demonstrated proficiency using testing tools and utilities.
• Demonstrated project leadership skills and/or aptitude.
• Understanding SDLC and Agile Scum Methodology.
• Experience in automated testing.
• Experience working with SQL, Unix, Windows O/S
• Experience working with JIRA.
• Working knowledge of software development languages: JavaScript, Python, TypeScript, Powershell

California: Salary range for the position: 90,000 USD to 105,000 USD.
