The Team You’ll Work With
The Mayor’s Office MIS Department is responsible for all aspects of technology for the agency. This
includes end-user desktop support, VOIP, network infrastructure, messaging, email, file, web, and
database servers, and server virtualization. MIS collaborates with other city agencies to implement
wireless policies and procedures and develop secure tools/applications for use by multiple agencies.
MIS also partners with other departments in the Mayor’s Office to develop tools and applications that
streamline processes, measure performance/metrics, and increase productivity.
The Problems You’ll Solve
The Server Administrator has the responsibility of supporting services for server infrastructure. You
play a major role in ensuring smooth operation, engineering, maintenance, and troubleshooting of
server systems. You will work collaboratively with all IT support teams to provide effective and
efficient support and resolution on a wide variety of issues, as well as interfacing with and assisting the
various business units in automating and streamlining workflow and daily operations.
You will be part of a team of server support administrators, with the responsibility of installing,
configuring, and supporting Windows-based physical and virtual servers.
