Position Information
TxDOT Waco District's Transportation and Operations Office is looking for Transportation Engineer I, II or III to manage and coordinate plan designs for various construction projects throughout the Waco District. In this role, you will lead in the development of plans, specifications, and estimates for projects that are assigned to the Waco District. While working closely with co-workers within a team, you will work on new projects from the design stage through the letting and bid process.
Monthly Salary Range
Transportation Engineer I: (B24) $5,425.33 - $8,886.16/monthly $65,104.00 - $99,658.00/annually
Transportation Engineer II: (B25) $5,797.66 - $9,508.25/monthly $69,572.25 – $114,099/annually
Transportation Engineer III: (B26) $6,377.50 - $10,785.83/monthly $76,530.00 - $123.430.00/annually

TE 1:
Performs transportation engineering work in one or more functional areas such as planning, project development and design, construction, transportation/traffic operations and/or maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Work requires contact with governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level follow standard practices that do not require frequent supervision of details.
TE 2-3: in addition to the above
Performs complex to advanced transportation engineering work in one or more functional areas such as planning, project development and design, construction, transportation/traffic operations and/or maintenance. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Work requires contact with governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level perform work independently on assignments; however, all unusual issues are referred to the supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related science bachelor's or higher degree accepted by TX PELS.
TE 1:
Experience: 4 years engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). Related graduate level education may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. Substitutions for Minimum Qualifications

Experience: 5 years engineering, transportation engineering, or related engineering experience (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent).
