Job Title: Extruding Operator

Job Description

As an Extruding Operator, you will be responsible for operating the extruding machine on a daily basis. This includes setting up and adjusting the machine for proper temperatures, air, and water lines. You will also set and adjust the cutter and perform quality checks on the product throughout all stages to ensure the cut and size are correct. You will be expected to read and understand work orders, supply your station with the appropriate materials, set up the proper dye using hand and power tools, and take the finished cut product to place in material handler boxes for splicers.

Responsibilities

  • Operate the extruding machine efficiently on a daily basis.
  • Set up and adjust machine settings for optimal performance, including temperatures, air, and water lines.
  • Perform quality checks on products at all stages to ensure correct cut and size.
  • Read and interpret work orders accurately.
  • Supply the station with the necessary materials as indicated in work orders.
  • Set up dyes using hand and power tools based on work orders.
  • Transport finished cut products to material handler boxes for splicers.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in machine operation and setup.
  • Mechanical skills with the ability to read and understand tape measures.
  • Experience in following written work orders accurately.
  • Capability to use hand and power tools effectively.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure product consistency.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $18.50/hr.
