Come build the future with us in the exciting PC industry. Amazon is looking for an experienced Business Inteligence Engineer to support WW expansion of Smart Retail project to new regions in context of collaboration with external partner.

Smart Retail project aims to automate manual tasks for non-playbook categories via creation on back-end models, internal and vendor facing interfaces that will host new category management capabilities facilitating vendors relationship.

Smart Retail received interest from external partners to contribute its development and Intel has been selected to support until end of 2026. Smart Retail BIE will be in charge of automating ranging, forecasting, buying, and inventory management capabilities within Smart Retail interfaces impacting PC category management WW. This project requires proven experience in strategical thinking, coding execution, innovation and multi stakeholders coordination to maximize results.

The BIE will work with Smart Retail WW PMs, development (INTech) and customers (Retail) teams and participate (i) Alliance Partner taskforce with C-Level executives involved, (ii) development of WW Alliance Partners (Intel, AMD, Windows, etc.) back-end capabilities to position Amazon as the prefered partner to operate laptops category and (iii) customers adoption stream (Retail, Vendors and Alliance Partners) with objective to adjust existing mechanisms and queries to drive growth/profit and advancing automation anticipating and responding to industry trends.

The ideal candidate is able to innovate quickly, has strong technical backgroung combined with project management skills, analytical horsepower, excellent business judgment, deep curiosity about how things work, and a passion for creating a world class shopping experience for our customers as well as category management tools for our partners.

The candidate must be willing to question the status quo in order to improve existing workflows and processes to step change how we do business and delight our customers.

This person will work with represent Amazon in interactions with INTech therefore must have excellent communication skills and be a strong influencer to drive joint progress on goals and Amazon priorities.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, endlessly curious, analytical, detail-oriented and highly organized; comfortable with ambiguity and able to think creatively to identify and capture new opportunities through back-end developments.

They will be a good communicator, equally fluent working with internal partner teams, external head vendors, and Amazon leadership.

Candidates for this role should have deep experience in SQL, Python, Quicksight and AWS tools as well as PC category understanding in particular, and a track record of successful data-driven decision making.

This position is based in Amazon FR Retail in Paris (CDG10) as the Project Team leader is based in Paris. But we are open to consider other locations across EU.

Key job responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement end-to-end BI solutions using SQL, QuickSight, and AWS analytics services
  • Create data models and visualization dashboards to support selection optimization and inventory planning
  • Collaborate with retail business partners to translate business requirements into actionable insights
  • Develop automated reporting systems for tracking key retail metrics and business performance
  • Build scalable data pipelines to support peak operations and business growth
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement through data analysis

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field
  • Experience in data analysis using SQL and business intelligence tools
  • Proficiency in AWS QuickSight or similar visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Strong SQL skills with experience in Amazon Redshift or other relational databases
  • Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into technical solutions
  • Understanding of retail metrics and business KPIs

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field
  • Experience with Python for data analysis and automation
  • Knowledge of retail forecasting and inventory management systems
  • Background in e-commerce or retail analytics

Experience with AWS services (S3, Redshift, Athena)

  • Strong business acumen and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences
