FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

The Department of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences at Bronx Community College seeks candidates as instructional faculty at the Assistant or Associate rank with a commitment to work effectively with diverse student populations, faculty, and staff.

Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Masters in Nursing required. Licensed as an RN in the United States for a minimum of two years. Currently holds a license in good standing in New York State. Ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution and the department. Experience with the integration of technology in teaching is desired.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

For Assistant Professor

Doctorate degree. A minimum of two years of teaching experience in Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pediatrics, and Mental Health Nursing. Experience teaching in an Associate Degree Nursing Program and/or Practical Nursing Program. Knowledgeable in the ACEN accreditation

  • Two (2) years teaching experience in nursing or licensed practical nursing programs.
  • Two (2) years of clinical experience (all specialties will be considered).
  • Experience with active learning strategies and integration of technology with instruction reflective of current best educational practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students for advisement and mentoring.

For Associate Professor

In addition to the preferred qualifications above:

  • Five (5) years teaching experience in nursing or licensed practical nursing programs.
  • Experience with accreditation, curricular and course development.
  • A record of published scholarship in refereed journals.
  • Five (5) years of clinical experience (all specialties will be considered).

COMPENSATION

Assistant Professor: $52,269- $99,532

Associate Professor: $67,784·- $117,805

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases. Once implemented, salaries of eligible employee will be adjusted by 6.09% with additional increases of 3.25% effective 9/1/2025 and 3.5% effective 9/1/2026, in accordance with the terms of the PSC-CUNY collective bargaining agreement.
