Summary:

Whisker is hiring a Product Owner to support the execution of our mobile app roadmap. This role is focused on day-to-day delivery, backlog readiness, cross-functional alignment, and supporting development teams in building high-quality features. You’ll work closely with Product Managers, TPMs, software engineers, QE, and UX to ensure that epics are well defined, bugs are prioritized effectively, and the right work is getting delivered at the right time.

What You’ll Do:

  • Ensures backlog is clear, prioritized, aligned to the product roadmap, and actionable for developers
  • Partners with Product Managers to refine epics, acceptance criteria, and definitions of done
  • Is the voice of Product in the ART
  • Makes near-term release scoping decisions and showstopper decisions to support the ART
  • Actively supports sprint ceremonies (planning, grooming, stand-ups, retrospectives)
  • Surfaces blockers and ambiguities quickly, and works across teams to resolve them
  • Monitors sprint progress and verifies that completed features meet acceptance criteria
  • Works with Engineering and Quality Engineering to triage bugs and prioritizes fixes in collaboration with product leadership
  • Tracks and escalates delivery risks and ensures team velocity is maintained
  • Helps improve team process and delivery consistency over time
  • Will perform additional responsibilities when required

Requirements

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, development, product management, or a combination
  • Technically proficient; able to speak with engineers about system behavior and implementation tradeoffs
  • Experience working with consumer-facing mobile apps
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and Figma
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-through
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, iterative development environment
  • Maintains confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to maintain a professional atmosphere in a fast-paced environment with numerous interactions and interruptions
  • A high degree of initiative, self-motivation, and ability to motivate others
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with Team Members and colleagues
  • Comfortable with office pets (cats, dogs)

Not Required but Nice To Have:

  • Software Engineering background
