What you will be doing

This role requires extensive familiarity with Windows servers and frequently involves user support tasks. Expertise with the Windows operating system and server administration to develop and deploy servers, support day-to-day system performance, and prevent data loss and unauthorized access is required. This role encompasses back-end IT support for business-critical and development-related departments and personnel. As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you administer and support core Microsoft, Linux, VMware technologies and Azure resources, install and configure Windows Servers, develop servers and provide support to individual users to ensure that the system works reliably and quickly.

You also manage server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX and are responsible for implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the instances of the on-prem and cloud infrastructure services and the servers. Knowledge in Application Insights, service principal in Azure, NSG rule, Azure Key vault, DevOps is a must. Providing technical support and guidance to users and other administrators and working closely with other IT departments and vendors to answer technical questions or resolve issues with server performance and access is required. The Senior Infrastructure Engineer also installs and maintains Windows-based programs for end users and help debug applications so that they work with Windows servers, performs System Maintenance activities like review backups, error logs and user-reported errors and identify stable and reliable solutions and monitors performance to reduce interruptions and server crashes. Develop and deploy initiative-taking solutions and setup alerts to ensure system usability across the organization. In addition to this, maintain system security by noticing faults and vulnerabilities within the server’s architecture and provide troubleshooting and support, including on-call rotation, after-hours support.

Ensure all infrastructure management aspects maintain adherence to all regulatory and information security standards and policies.

• Relationship Management - Build strong relationships and partnerships with technical team members, clients, vendors, and peers. Lead discussions, listen, and ask the right questions to ensure problems/issues are identified and resolved.

Who you are

• You demonstrate 8+ years experience Windows/Linux administration with a minimum of 2+ years experience on Azure (Azure Certification is preferred) .You must have a strong knowledge of the Windows servers (2012 R2, 2016, 2019, 2022) and managing server virtualization technologies like VMWare Server/ESX, Group Policy design, configuration of Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration
• You have strong communication, documentation and critical thinking skills with an ability to apply these skills to identify and resolve anomalies in system functionality and performance. You are flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and can manage projects of varying length. You are responsible, highly dependable, organized; able to work individually and collaboratively with peers.

At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $110,000- $120,000 based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
