TEKsystems is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual for an entry-level System Support Specialist/Service Desk position within the Central Operations team for one of our clients based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. This role is essential to ensuring system integrity through monitoring, troubleshooting, and providing exceptional customer support via phone and email.

General:

  • Complete assigned tasks promptly and accurately.
  • Follow shift-specific task assignments and complete checklists.
  • Monitor system operations and logs throughout the shift.
  • Assist team members as needed.
  • Ensure all service tickets contain thorough and accurate details.
  • Participate in regular one-on-one meetings with supervisors, offering feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Adhere to scheduled breaks and lunches.
  • Maintain an organized and efficient workspace.
  • Support the next shift by ensuring a seamless transition.

Essential Functions:

  • Professionally handle incoming customer inquiries and assist with troubleshooting various system components.
  • Provide backup support to maintain system reliability.
  • Monitor error logs, alerts, and communication networks, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Accurately input and verify data in scheduling systems.
  • Execute daily checklist tasks efficiently.
  • Contribute to assigned projects as a team member.
  • Perform User Acceptance Testing for system updates.
  • Complete system configuration requests.
  • Identify and troubleshoot processing errors, escalating when required.
  • Undertake additional duties as assigned.

Phone Support:

  • Log into phone systems promptly at the start of shifts if assigned.
  • Deliver high-quality customer service by addressing callers professionally and efficiently.
  • Aim for first-call resolution.
  • Document all incoming calls as service desk tickets.

Email Support:

  • Monitor and respond to customer inquiries via email as assigned.
  • Convert customer emails into service desk tickets.
  • Maintain professional and courteous communication.
  • Provide status updates as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Ability to obtain necessary licenses
  • Proficiency with office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Reliable transportation and punctuality.

Preferred:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
  • Some experience with system configurations.

Physical & Mental Demands

  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods while working at a desk.
  • Perform repetitive tasks such as typing and phone communication.
  • Maintain focus on details despite interruptions or shifting priorities.
  • Vision requirements include close vision, color differentiation, and peripheral awareness.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.75/hr.
