Own the data architecture for a customer loyalty platform that’s going national. A leading retailer is hiring a hands-on Data Architect to shape the future of its Composable CDP (Customer Data Platform). This is a high-impact, high-visibility role supporting a growing loyalty and rewards program—already live in pilot markets and gearing up for a full-scale national rollout.

You’ll sit at the intersection of business strategy and technical architecture, working directly with marketing leadership, data engineers, and execs to design scalable systems that protect PII, support personalization, and drive customer engagement.

This isn’t just about stack alignment (although the team is building in Azure Databricks)—they want an architect who can think strategically, diagram clearly, and act decisively.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and evolve a customer data architecture in support of loyalty, marketing, and performance analytics.
  • Lead high-level system design across bronze/silver/gold data lake layers and feature stores in Databricks.
  • Guide data governance practices (incl. tokenization, masking, and PII protection strategies).
  • Influence architectural decisions as ownership transitions from external consultants to internal teams.
  • Mentor data engineers and collaborate with marketing-focused business stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership while translating business needs into scalable solutions.

What Makes You a Strong Fit

  • Strategic thinker with experience in loyalty, rewards, or customer data ecosystems.
  • Architect-level mindset – you know how to diagram systems, see the big picture, and guide technical decisions.
  • Solid chops in modern cloud platforms (Azure preferred; Databricks, Snowflake, GCP or AWS all welcome).
  • You’re comfortable in hybrid cloud environments and understand data lake design patterns (bronze/silver/gold).
  • Experience in data privacy, including tokenization and securing sensitive customer information.
  • Self-starter with executive presence – ready to take the reins and run with it.
