Woven by Toyota is enabling Toyota’s once-in-a-century transformation into a mobility company. Inspired by a legacy of innovating for the benefit of others, our mission is to challenge the current state of mobility through human-centric innovation — expanding what “mobility” means and how it serves society.

Our work centers on four pillars: AD/ADAS, our autonomous driving and advanced driver assist technologies; Arene, our software development platform for software-defined vehicles; Woven City, a test course for mobility; and Cloud & AI, the digital infrastructure powering our collaborative foundation. Business-critical functions empower these teams to execute, and together, we’re working toward one bold goal: a world with zero accidents and enhanced well-being for all.

TEAM

The AD/ADAS Technical Program Management Team’s goal is to enable the successful delivery of technology from the engineering organization to achieve business goals. The Program Management function in WbyT’s AD/ADAS organization is a partner to the Engineering, Product, and Technical Project Management functions and owns the execution of the AD/ADAS portfolio, maintaining the organization’s plan of record and ensuring execution velocity and agility of a highly cross-functional engineering team distributed across multiple locations.

The Program Management team come from a mix of hardware, vehicle, and software backgrounds but we all share a common drive to enable the delivery of complex technical engineering products to the world. We are problem solvers who make things happen by setting and communicating clear goals and supporting engineering teams to deliver the best safety-critical autonomy through the technical and organizational complexity.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

For this position, we are looking for a Staff Program Manager to expand the team's capacity to tackle the complexity of our growing autonomy program portfolio and maintain the highest standard of execution rigor within the engineering organization. You will be responsible for end-to-end delivery of one of our key programs contributing to the overall AD/ADAS product, in close collaboration with engineering, technical project management, and product leadership.

You should be highly motivated by the challenge of shipping complex technology programs to market, solving interdisciplinary problems with a strong focus on execution. You excel in navigating ambiguity and driving engineering teams through it by establishing structure and frameworks. The role requires deep domain expertise in the autonomy system to directly shape and mitigate risks in the program execution, coupled with a genuine interest in solving organizational complexity that comes from the human dimension.

The position requires a passion for contributing to the Program Management practice. You'll be working closely with other Program Managers to foster a safe and inclusive environment, to continuously improve and expand the TPM tools and frameworks, and enable and scale cross-functional collaboration across the entire AD/ADAS organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the strategic direction and execution of Autonomy programs spanning Perception, Motion Planning, Motion Controls, and Platform teams, integrating cross-functional collaboration to deliver next-generation autonomy features within Toyota’s production ecosystem.
  • Partner with Systems Engineering and Product leadership to define and evolve execution roadmaps for advanced driving (AD) features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)—and support the introduction of new vehicle capabilities to expand Operational Design Domains (ODDs) across vehicle lines.
  • Architect and maintain the Verification and Validation plan, component, and sub-component requirements. Govern multi-scale execution across sprints, quarters, and annual milestones, incorporating proactive risk assessment, test coverage strategy, and production-aligned delivery targets.
  • Accelerate execution by aligning in-vehicle autonomy application development with off-board infrastructure, including Simulation environments and the Data Platform, ensuring system cohesion and schedule integrity throughout the vehicle development lifecycle.
  • Lead issue resolution across closed-course and on-road testing environments, managing disengagement root-cause triage and driving corrective actions across autonomy software, perception systems, and platform integration domains.
  • Elevate internal Program Management practices by applying deep domain experience in safety-critical systems from Automotive and Aerospace. Define and implement production-grade governance models, execution standards, and requirements management frameworks to scale TPM impact.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years program management experience in the ADAS automotive industry, with a major OEM/Tier-1 environment
  • Proven track record of leading large programs to successful delivery spanning cross-functional engineering organizations of 100+ stakeholders.
  • Skilled in navigating ambiguity and shaping clarity driving alignment and execution with minimal structure across culturally diverse, cross-functional, and distributed organisations
  • Proven ability to design, implement, and scale program governance models and operational frameworks that adapt to dynamic team cultures and organisational complexity
  • Deep understanding of software and systems engineering lifecycle—including integration, release, validation, and deployment—in high-assurance environments such as OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers

NICE TO HAVES

  • People management experience of Program Managers, team,s or similar functions
  • PMP/PMI or other Project Management certifications are welcome
