Extended School Year (ESY)

ESY services are necessary to provide a free appropriate public education (FAPE) when the benefits a student with a disability gains during the regular school year will be significantly jeopardized if he or she is not provided with an educational program during the summer months. The folowing Programs will be offered:

ESY – Emotional Disabilities (ED)

ESY – Academic Life Skills (ALS)

ESY – Primary Learner and Upper Learner (PL/UL)

ESY – Social Opportunities and Relationships (SOAR)

July 5 - July 28 (Monday-Friday)

Schools and offices are closed on July 4th.

Orientation and Set up will take place on June 28 - June 29 (2 full days)

TIMES: *Times may be adjusted based on student transportation needs.

Elementary School:

Teacher Hours: 8:55 a.m. - 1:35 p.m.

Elementary Para: 9:10 a.m. - 1:20 p.m.

Student Hours: 9:25 a.m. - 1:05 p.m.

Full Day Elementary School:

Teacher Hours: 8:55 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Elementary Para: 9:10 a.m. - 4:15 p.m.

Student Hours: 9:25 - 4:00 p.m.

Middle School:

Teacher Hours 7:55 a.m. - 12:35 p.m.

Middle Para: 8:10 a.m. - 12:20 p.m.

Student Hours: 8:25 a.m. - 12:05 p.m.

SALARY RATES:

NOTE: Estimates below reflect staff working all of the hours listed; staff are not paid for days/hours not worked

Non-HCPSS Teachers will receive $41.19 an hour.

Non-HCPSS Paraeducators will receive $17.53 an hour.

  • three professional references that supervised you in a paid or volunteer capacity
  • Official College transcript
  • A copy of your teacher certification

Paraeducator Applicants must submit a complete application with the following items:

  • work history, volunteer work, and/or dates of unemployment for the past 5 years - If you are a student, you may document this information under experience.
  • three professional references that supervised you in a paid or volunteer capacity - If you are a student, you may use teacher, advisor, counselor, and/or administrators.
  • High school diploma, GED or higher - If you are a student, you may provide a copy of your HS transcript.
  • If you are a student between the ages of 16-17, you must also provide a work permit.
