Expected pay for this position is $53.71 - $71.16/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
Serves as the manager of the ethics consultation service for an identified region(s) or multiple operating units and as an ethicist for an identified location. The manager will precept and guide ethics leads and assist in their formation, education, and professional development. The manager will focus on ethics consultation, education, policy review and implementation, and ethics committee needs. As the primary ethicist, the manager will implement the ethics agenda and strategy in their identified locations and will ensure the ethics leads they manage implement the agenda and strategy into their assigned locations. The manager will identify ethics consultation, education, policy, and committee needs across their consultation service locations, and will work collaboratively to incorporate those needs into the ministry wide ethics agenda and strategy. In collaboration with the center for excellence in ethics, the manager will work with local ethics committees in their individual formation and education plans. The manager will ensure all ethics consults are entered into the ethics data management system for their consultation service locations and will work with the center to assess and determine the strategy for ethics consultation. The Manager will also participate in efforts to integrate ethics values and concerns of the Catholic healthcare ministry into clinical practice and the organizational culture, using the Gospel, Church teachings, the Ethical and Religious Directives for Catholic Health Care Services and ‘preventive, integrative and proactive ethics.
Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Master’s degree in healthcare ethics, bioethics, theology, theological ethics, philosophical ethics, law or a field related to healthcare ethics.
Experience:
Other Skills/ Knowledge:
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Doctorate in theological ethics, philosophical ethics, bioethics, or healthcare ethics. Experience: 2 years of experience in healthcare ethics role
Licensure/ Certification: Healthcare Ethics Consultant-Certified (HEC-C)
