The Assistant Director is responsible for all aspects of planning, organizing and executing successful in-person and virtual events for new students and their families. This includes communication and coordination with campus partners and off-campus vendors, management of budget, and oversight of the event schedule. This position will be the main point of contact for external entities as it pertains to major enrollment and recruitment programs and signature events, such as Blue and Gold Preview Days, Power C Tours, Moc to Moc admitted student and family events. The Assistant Director will work with campus partners to develop onboarding programs for special populations, such as transfer students, dual enrollment, distance learners, certificate programs and adult students. This position will help create on-boarding processes for special interest groups that are tailored to their needs as well as maintaining a focus on matriculation to the UTC.
Event Planning and Coordination
Assist with planning large-scale recruitment events. This includes 6 off-campus events and 3 on-campus events annually. Work with off and on campus partners to coordinate a schedule, budget and oversight of these events.
Contribute to print and online publications and websites in collaboration with the Enrollment Management team and the EMSA division.
New Student Orientation Support
Work with campus partners to develop on boarding programs for special populations, such as transfer students, distance learners, summer start students, certificate programs and adult students.
Serve as a secondary contact for New Student Orientation programs and events; assisting with New Student Orientation planning and execution of all events; including serving as a secondary contact for Orientation Leader staff. Oversee the administrative functions and recruitment activities related to the orientation leader program. This includes coordinating marketing materials, recruitment, and outreach activities in collaboration with appropriate UTC departments such as Marketing and Communication and Student Success Centers.
This also includes attending and helping facilitate hiring and training sessions throughout the academic calendar. This position will have indirect supervision of graduate assistants, NODA Interns, and student leaders; assist with recruitment, selection and training of undergraduate and graduate student staff (This may include travel to support student leaders at conferences, retreats, or events).
Assessment and Data Analysis
Conduct assessment and data analysis of orientation and new student recruitment programs and publications; participate in self-study and program review process w/ peer/aspirational institutions; work with Admissions and EMSA team to identify trends and suggestions for improvements to recruitment programs, publications, and event scheduling software.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree, 2-3 years of experience working in the area of student activities event planning and/or new student orientation and transition programs.
Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree, Direct experience working with students in a higher education setting; Experience with recruitment of high school age students; Experience with relevant technology programs; Experience working effectively with a diverse student population.
