Arcosa Marine is searching for a Health and Safety Coordinator in our Caruthersville, MO barge manufacturing plant.

Arcosa Marine Products, Inc., is part of Arcosa’s Inland Barge Group, and is a leading manufacturer of barges used to transport cargo on U.S. inland waterways. Arcosa Marine Products manufactures dry cargo barges, including flat-deck and hopper barges, that are used to transport a variety of products including grain, coal, and aggregates. Arcosa Marine Products also manufactures tank barges that carry petroleum, fertilizer, ethanol, chemicals, and other liquid cargoes. It is the largest U.S. manufacturer of fiberglass hopper barge covers used primarily on grain barges. Additionally, Arcosa Marine Products provides a full line of deck hardware to the marine industry, including hatches, castings, and winches for towboats and dock facilities.

What You'll Do:

  • Prepare and maintain records concerning occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Administer first aid to employees.
  • Arrange for emergency medical treatment of injured employees.
  • Transport injured employees to hospital/clinic.
  • Audit plant shop areas and contact managers and supervisors to implement actions for the correction of hazardous situations to comply with OSHA, EPA, company and/or DOT regulations.
  • Ensure continued adherence of safety rules and procedures.
  • Monitor work practices and safety equipment.
  • Monitor environmental conditions including housekeeping, painting, welding fumes, and hazardous waste.
  • Investigate employee complaints concerning unsafe working conditions.
  • Issue, order, and maintain safety equipment.
  • Audit and maintain safety records.
  • Prepare reports in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to workplace safety or security emergencies and issues.

What You'll Need:

  • High School diploma or equivalent with 5+ years of related experience
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certified.
  • Some knowledge of general office practices.
  • Ability to maintain accurate, organized records.
  • Ability to operate commonly used office equipment, including personal computers and Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to follow directions and interact effectively with plant personnel.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) is strongly preferred.
  • Predictable, regular attendance is required.
  • Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when needed.
