Director of Finance, Foundation Medical Partners

About the Job:

The Director of Finance for Foundation Medical Partners (FMP) plays a pivotal leadership role within the organization’s financial infrastructure. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance, this position oversees the Accounting Department and is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of all financial reporting and operational accounting activities across the organization. This includes direct oversight of both the accounting and financial planning & analysis teams.

As a senior leader within FMP, the Director of Finance will manage complex financial functions and help shape strategic financial decisions by delivering insightful analysis, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations. The role requires a deep understanding of healthcare finance, the ability to lead during periods of rapid change, and a proactive approach to financial stewardship and compliance.

The Director will be instrumental in aligning financial operations with organizational goals, managing budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls. Additionally, this leader will foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the finance team, while serving as a key advisor to executive leadership on financial matters that affect the sustainability and growth of FMP.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and manage finance team operations, including task delegation, feedback, and support.
• Oversee monthly close processes and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
• Review and analyze physician practice financials, offering variance reporting.
• Support VP of Finance with monthly reviews and bridge plans.
• Direct annual audit preparation and follow-up on findings.
• Approve and ensure timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations.
• Develop and manage FMP's annual budget and financial projections.
• Implement and maintain accounting best practices and controls to mitigate financial risk.

Who You Are:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: CPA preferred.
• Experience: 5–7 years of accounting experience with management duties; healthcare accounting experience is advantageous.
• Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel; solid grasp of GAAP and payroll regulations; strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities.
• Qualities: Demonstrated leadership, effective communication, decision-making under pressure, and commitment to high standards and teamwork.
