The Reliability Engineering Specialist – Stress Testing is responsible for planning, executing, and optimizing technical feasibility checks and reliability stress tests for semiconductor products. This role involves collaboration across internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with test requirements, timelines, and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of reliability test methodologies, stress equipment operation, and continuous improvement practices to drive efficiency and innovation within the lab environment.

Job Description

In your new role you will:

  • Plan and manage Technical Feasibility Check on reliability projects with low to high complexity/quantity and provide feedback to Lab Planners/clients
  • Plan/carry out/ liaise internally with Operation in stress setup and optimization activities to achieve the required stress conditions and agreed priority & start date.
  • Liaise internally with Lab Planner/externally with counterpart or external test houses and prioritize towards achieving agreed timeline, including milestone and deadline reliability. Seek alternative capacity within Lab Cluster to off load if demand exceeds capacity available.
  • To resolve stress related issues with low to high complexity/quantity or for new products. Monitor and report on stress activities and provide relevant information of machine down/ malfunction, early warning on delays and bottlenecks.
  • Maintenance/ repair/ modification/ optimization/ characterization/ buy-off stress equipment, stress boards, tools and on-line monitoring system.
  • Review, update and documentation (work instruction, specification, OJTI..)
  • Work center leader for equipment development/modification/transfer etc. Maintain, develop existing and new methods & processes of low to high complexity to optimise quality, efficiency and effectiveness of reliability qualification of product/technology/material & process change.
  • Drives for equipment and process adaptation according to new requirements
  • Participates in Continuous Improvement Project, YIP submission and problem solving using 8D methodology. Proactively share Best Practice within the local team and Cluster Team.
  • Attend training, to develop relevant knowledge and skills, and to bridge competency gap.
  • Proactively identification of improvement potentials and drives continuous improvement/ Failure Prevention within Engineering team.
  • Performs any other related duties as assigned by the superior.

Your Profile

You are best equipped for this task if you have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics, Semiconductor Technology, Microelectronics or equivalent)/Applied Science with 5 years working experience or Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics) with minimum 7 years of working experience
  • Min. 5 years related experience in semiconductor reliability stress equipment is preferred (experience in reliability test methodology & concepts, reference standards, working principle of stress equipment and programming knowhow will be an added Advantage).
  • Setup, modification and optimization of reliability equipment (hardware/test recipe/profile)/driver & stress board and process with low to high complexity/quantity Knowledge on on-line monitoring system, automatic data capturing of in-process data and control limits.
  • Reliability system buy-off & release using T32 and stress board buy-off & release and registration in REALIS. Resolve equipment related issues with low to high complexity/quantity.
  • Basic knowledge on semiconductor physics, packaging technology, wafer technologies and the interpretation of typical electrical characteristics of semiconductor devices (parameters) which can be influenced by the change of materials/processes or by the stress applied.
  • Knowledge on reliability reference standards, test methodologies and concepts for low to high complexity products.
  • Knowledge on the working principle, troubleshooting & diagnostic, interpretation of schematic/electronic circuitry and repair of stress equipment with low to high complexity/quantity.
